FREISCHWIMMER is about an public swimming pool situated in the small Thuringian town of Artern. It is about work, community, social participation and democratic processes. Two events are juxtaposed. One is the construction of the swimming pool in 1967 and the other is its renovation after the German reunification. As different as the political regimes of the respective times has been, as different has been the participation of the public in both construction processes. FREISCHWIMMER combines interviews with photos and archive material.
